LeBron James Shocks Fans With Reel Repost Featuring Drake's 'Shabang'

LeBron James has confused fans and followers of both he and Drake after reposting an Instagram reel set to one of the Canadian rapper's songs.

The Los Angeles Lakers star reunited with his former Cleveland Cavaliers teammates in Scotland this past week, which included appearances from Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, Richard Jefferson and more.

During the 10-year anniversary vacation, Jefferson took to IG to share a reel of himself and a DJ patting their head dry while Iceman track "Shabang" played. "When your [sic] 45 and the boys are drinking like they 35," the text over the reel read.

James later reposted the reel, and while he probably found the video relatable, the repost raised eyebrows considering that he and Drizzy have seemingly been at odds since the NBA star attended Kendrick Lamar’s 'Pop Out' concert on Juneteenth 2024.

At that show, the 27-time Grammy winner performed a number of his diss tracks aimed at Drake, which came during the height of their feud, including chart-topper "Not Like Us," which LeBron James danced and rapped along to.

Since the concert, the 6 God has distanced himself from James by covering up his tattoo of the athlete’s high school St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish team jersey with Shai-Gilgeous Alexander’s Oklahoma City Thunder jersey. The five-time Grammy winner also shaded the basketball star on at least two songs, including 2025 track "Fighting Irish" and "Make Them Remember" on Iceman.

"I shouldn't even be shocked to see you in that arena / Because you always made your career off of switching teams up," Drake raps on the latter.

James, who recently told TIME that he's kept J. Cole’s new album The Fall-Off in constant rotation, dispelled rumors of tension with Drizzy during an episode of Complex's 360 With Speedy last year.

At the time, James said that while the two were in "different places," there's "always love" between them.
