A JPMorgan Chase executive has reportedly lost her job after a viral video showed her dumping garbage onto a New York City sidewalk and walking away with a trash can during the Knicks' championship parade.
According to TMZ, JPMorgan Chase terminated Angie Báez after reviewing footage from last week's celebration following the Knicks' NBA Finals victory over the San Antonio Spurs.
The videos, which acquired over 5 million views across X and other social media platforms, appear to show Báez wearing Knicks gear while emptying the contents of an orange and blue trash receptacle, designed specifically for the parade.
She was also seen posing with the empty trash bin on a train.
A spokesperson for the banking giant confirmed to TMZ that Baez was no longer employed by the company following an internal review of the footage. The New York Police Department, meanwhile, stated there's "no complaint report on file with the information provided," meaning police are not looking for her.
The incident occurred during the massive championship parade that took over Manhattan to celebrate the Knicks defeating the Spurs in five games and capturing the franchise's first NBA title in 53 years.
Before her departure, Báez served as executive director of community and industry engagement for card and connected commerce at JPMorgan Chase, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Her professional background also included a leadership role at the restaurant-review platform The Infatuation, where she served as executive director of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The bizarre parade moment quickly became one of the more talked-about viral clips from the Knicks' championship celebrations, which drew hundreds of thousands of fans to the streets of New York City.
