Cardi B has denied that she bought herself luxury bags and passed them off as gifts from ex-husband Offset.
The Am I the Drama? rapper addressed the speculation on Saturday (April 11), responding to an X post that showed a clip of her opening a Birkin bag gifted by the Kiari artist and reacting by dancing in her seat. "So Cardi was buying her own bags this while time and letting y’all think Offset was spoiling her??" the original post read.
Cardi replied by saying that she's "never the type to do lame shit like that." "There was no money problems when I was regulating," she added.
While Cardi has been highly profitable in her near-decade of mainstream music success, Offset has been sued for racking up an alleged $100,000 casino debt at Detroit’s MotorCity Casino Hotel.
The company claims that the former Migos member opened a $100,000 credit line in 2024 and after attempting to withdraw the funds from his bank account, they were met with a failed transaction due to insufficient funds. A spokesperson has since stated that Offset is "working toward a resolution" with the casino.
Adding insult to injury, on Monday (April 6), Offset was shot in the valet area of Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Rapper Lil Tjay called Offset a "rat” after being alleged to have ordered the shooting, which was denied by his attorney, Dawn Florio.
Offset has since been called out by Dez Bryant and Ebro Darden as owing them thousands in previously placed bets.
Cardi B and Offset share three children and married in 2017 before separating in 2023. Last year, Cardi welcomed a baby boy with NFL player Stefon Diggs, although Offset is reportedly seeking a paternity test for the four-month-old.
