Following his release from jail, Lil Tjay has accused Offset of being a “rat” for comments he allegedly made during the Florida shooting that left the former Migos rapper hospitalized.
Tjay claimed that the former Migos member told bystanders — falsely — that Tjay was the one who shot him.
“The last thing I see was Offset looking at me like this: ‘Yo, that n***a shot me, that n***a shot me!’” he told reporters. “N***a is a rat, n***a. … I didn’t do no damn fighting. Did I shoot? That shit is crazy. I will smack the shit out of Offset. He would never play like that with me in his life. Ask Offset.”
Offset was shot outside of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and taken to a hospital in stable condition on Monday (April 6).
Shortly after the news broke of the shooting, Lil Tjay’s lawyer, Dawn Florio, said that the rapper was not involved in the shooting. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and a capias-traffic charge in connection with driving without a valid license. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
Tjay’s lawyer Dawn Florio responded to her client’s latest statement.
“The only thing that Lil Tjay was being looked into for was for creating a disturbance,” she told Complex. “Those are the charges that he’s fighting. As far as I’m aware, there’s no charges related to shooting Offset. There’s video everywhere — there’s no video that shows that Tjay is involved in any of this.”
Complex has reached out to representatives of Offset and Tjay for comment. Neither immediately responded.
Lil Tjay and Offset have been beefing for well over a year. In January 2025, Tjay alleged that Offset is “broke” and has a “gambling addiction,” owing him as much as $10,000. Their issues continued to escalate, leading to Offset challenging Tjay to a livestreamed fight.
