Offset is “working toward a resolution” after being hit with a $100,000 casino debt lawsuit, per a spokesperson.
As previously reported, the claim against the Migos alum stems from Detroit’s MotorCity Casino Hotel. The lawsuit was filed days before Offset was shot and injured outside a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Florida.
“We are working toward a resolution,” a spokesperson for Offset tells Complex of the MotorCity legal dispute, which is reported to stem from efforts to collect on a $100,000 credit line.
As for the Florida shooting, questions still remain about the exact circumstances of the incident. On Monday (April 6), a rep for Offset confirmed to Complex that the three-time Grammy nominee “was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care,” adding that he was “stable and being closely monitored” at the time.
Lil Tjay, meanwhile, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Dawn M. Florio, his attorney, said in a statement shared to Instagram that her client had “not been shot,” nor had he “been charged with any shooting.”
“One person has been charged in connection with the incident that took place Monday night at a valet area outside of Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood,” a Seminole Police Department rep told Complex. “Tione Jayden Merritt (DOB 4/30/2001) has been charged with disorderly conduct — affray, a first-degree misdemeanor under Florida Statute 870.01. The incident began with an affray, or fight.”
The rep continued: “Merritt was booked into the Broward County Jail late last night. A second person detained at the scene has not been charged. The investigation to identify one or more additional persons involved in the incident is ongoing. The injured individual remains at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Fla., with a non-life threatening injury.”
