Ebro Darden is walking back his recent comments about Offset, issuing a public apology after realizing how his words were being interpreted by some.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show, he dmitted he didn’t fully understand the situation behind Offset's shooting when he talked about the rapper owing him money.

“It’s actually a serious apology… I really felt bad yesterday ’cause I didn’t realize I wasn’t in tune with what was really going on,” Ebro said. “And then when I saw it really unraveling, I was like, I don’t want to be a part of that… I feel like I need to apologize.”

Ebro explained that what began as a lighthearted conversation about a Super Bowl bet quickly took on a life of its own once clips circulated online.

“I want to apologize to Offset… when we were talking yesterday about this story and you asked me if he owed me money, I didn’t know there was going to be this day-long pile-on,” he said. “Me and Offset made a goofy bet at the Super Bowl.”

According to Ebro, he initially didn’t grasp the seriousness of the situation surrounding Offset and Lil Tjay, particularly reports tied to the shooting incident and the broader speculation that followed.

“When I heard the story, it didn’t seem that egregious,” he said. “Then when more details started coming out, I didn’t realize Lil Tjay and Offset really had a problem. I thought this was just cats that got into it with somebody else.”

He emphasized that his relationship with Offset is solid and that the apology comes from a place of respect.

“I want to apologize to Offset ’cause that’s my guy,” Ebro added. “I reached out to him yesterday, and we were laughing in the text, but I still felt terrible seeing my name in it.”

Ebro also acknowledged how quickly commentary can spiral once it hits social media.

“We get up here, we get chatty, we goofing around, cracking jokes… people are going to chop it and that’s what happened,” he said. “That’s why I’m apologizing.”

The apology comes after Ebro’s earlier remarks about a $5,000 bet with Offset went viral, with some fans interpreting the comments more seriously than intended amid an already tense moment surrounding the rapper.
