Young Thug was apparently late in discovering the news that Offset was shot in Florida earlier this week.
On Thursday (April 9), The Shade Room shared a video (which you can see here) that shows Thugger about to get into his car when he's asked by paparazzi about his thoughts on the incident.
At first not hearing the person clearly, Thug asks who was shot. After learning it was the former Migos rapper, Thug’s facial expression changes to one of surprise. He then tells the paparazzi that he didn't know because he's "been in Asia."
"It happened last night at the Hard Rock Cafe. Offest got shot. Supposedly it was Lil Tjay who was the one that sent somebody to do it," the paparazzi told Thug before asking him why he didn't know about it.
"I've been on a plane for 26 hours," Thug answered.
Offset was shot near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on Monday (April 6).
In a statement shared with Complex, a spokesperson connected to the 34-year-old rapper said, "We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care. He is stable and being closely monitored."
According to the probable cause affidavit reviewed by TMZ, cops claim that at around 7:22 p.m. ET on Monday, Tjay "directed members of his party to start a fight with another group of males" at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
Police have reported that during the altercation, one of Tjay's associates pulled a gun and fired, injuring Offset.
Tjay was arrested on Monday for disorderly conduct a capias-traffic charge in connection with driving without a valid license. Tjay’s attorney, Dawn Florio, said in a statement shared with Complex that the rapper was not involved in the shooting.
