There’s still plenty of juice in the Drake stimulus package.
Indeed, in addition to Drizzy besting charts records previously held by Michael Jackson and Jay-Z, leading to him highlighting back pain he says was brought on by “carrying the game,” his three-albums-at-once release strategy has led to five featured artists making their Billboard Hot 100 debut.
Below, we take a closer look.
Molly Santana
Song: “Ran to Atlanta”
Position: No. 2
In Drake’s opinion, Molly Santana stands tall as the “biggest in the game” right now.
Qendresa
Song: “Slap the City”
Position: No. 39
This Habibti track, featuring Qendresa, is one of the few non-Iceman songs to have been given official videos so far. See here for a rundown of all the new videos Drake has released in tandem with his charts-dominating triad.
Stunna Sandy
Song: “Outside Tweaking”
Position: No. 65
Stunna Sandy not only got enlisted for Maid of Honour highlight “Outside Tweaking,” but she was also recruited for the fourth episode of Drake’s Iceman livestream series.
Iconic Savvy
Song: “True Bestie”
Position: No. 67
“I would not be here without God,” Iconic Savvy wrote on Instagram when her Maid of Honour guest appearance was revealed to the public. “He has genuinely blessed me with something so amazing. I cried hard, the ugly one too. But I’m just so proud of myself and I am so happy and grateful Drake considered me to be on this project.”
Popcaan
Song: “Amazing Shape”
Position: No. 76
While “Amazing Shape” doesn’t mark the first time Drake and Popcaan have worked together, it is the first of their collaborations to net the latter his first-ever appearance on the Hot 100.
