Pooh Shiesty might remain in jail for a while longer after one of his alleged robbery victims has asked a judge to hold the rapper without bond until his trial in February 2027.
Earlier this year, Shiesty (real name Lontrell Williams Jr.) was accused of attempting to force New 1017 Records founder, Gucci Mane, to let him out of his contract with the label.
The Memphis rapper and several others were alleged to have held Gucci at gunpoint and kidnapped him. Upon the arrest of Shiesty and his father, Lontrell Denell Williams Sr., the "Back In Blood" artist was charged with kidnapping and armed robbery.
In documents obtained by Complex, someone described as a "victim and survivor" from the alleged January 10 robbery asked a judge for Shiesty to be held without bond ahead of the start of his trial. The individual, referred to as "C.W." said that he was a retired police officer and was "deeply concerned" that Shiesty would reach him or family members if granted bond.
"His actions show a disregard for the safety and well-being of others," the letter read. "These alleged crimes were committed while he was already under government-monitored release, which raises serious concerns for me about what would prevent him from causing further harm if given another opportunity."
C.W. also referenced Shiesty's 2025 prison release after being sentenced to 63 months in connection with a 2020 shooting. The alleged victim wrote that Shiesty "was once again accused of committing another crime that resulted in a person being shot."
C.W. concluded the letter by describing his paranoia upon seeing vehicles pass his home. "I have young children, and because of this fear, I have limited their ability to go outside and enjoy normal activities as they should," he wrote. "Judge, I respectfully ask that you consider the safety and security of my family and me when making your decision regarding bond. I believe keeping Mr. Williams detained is necessary to protect us and prevent further harm."
Local outlets reported on Thursday (June 25) that the rapper was once again denied bond. Shiesty’s father, however, requested that the terms of his proposed bond be modified for "work purposes" and to plan for trial.
