Pretty Ricky gave Static Major a shoutout during their Verzuz event with B2K.
Deep into the back-and-forth face-off between the two legendary R&B groups, Pretty Ricky performed their popular track, “Make It Like It Was.” Pleasure P made sure to pay tribute to the producer, saying, “Rest in peace to Static Major.”
Static Major died of medical complications in 2008. Years before his death, he recorded the demo for “Make It Like It Was.”
B2K and Pretty Ricky’s highly anticipated Verzuz event was full of exciting moments and surprise appearances — specifically, Lizzo appearing and taking part in B2K’s performance of “Bump, Bump, Bump.”
Multiple times during the VERZUZ, Pleasure P called out Omarion to perform without a backing track. After not taking part in the challenge the first time, Omarion stepped to the plate and showcased his acapella abilities.
The face-off was technically in the works for five years — stretching back to Pretty Ricky's Pleasure P publicly calling out B2K in 2021.
The event kicked off with Trick Daddy introducing Pretty Ricky, followed by Affion Crockett introducing B2K.
Afterwards, the bands went round for round, playing their biggest songs as people voted on their favorites. You can get in on the voting, too. Learn how to by clicking here. We’ve also got collectible GAS trading cards for both groups here.
