After swearing off participation in a future Super Bowl halftime show, Lil Wayne held a halftime performance via online video game Clash Royale.

The five-time Grammy winner headlined the event, which appeared in Clash Royale this week, ahead of Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, California. The performance was part live-action, showing the real Weezy along with animated characters from Clash Royale.

Characters excitedly danced and caused mischief around the stage as Wayne rapped “A Milli,” and one moment referenced the viral 2025 kiss cam moment at Coldplay’s concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Fresh off of winning the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, Bad Bunny will be the star of the Super Bowl LX halftime show on Sunday (Feb. 8).

Last year, Kendrick Lamar headlined the Super Bowl LIX halftime performance, and his special guests included SZA, Samuel L. Jackson, Mustard, and Serena Williams. The decision initially disappointed Tha Carter rapper, who tried to land the performance that took place in his hometown of New Orleans.

"I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown and for just automatically mentally putting myself in that position like somebody told me that was my position. So I blame myself for that,” Wayne said in an Instagram video after Kendrick’s performance was announced in 2024.

In an interview with Rolling Stone months later, Tunechi shared that he’s no longer interested in headlining the Super Bowl halftime show if approached with the opportunity later.

“They stole that feeling. I don’t want to do it. It was perfect,” he said at the time.
