Alongside a series of photos showing her with fans and her co-stars, Megan Thee Stallion has announced that she will be exiting the Moulin Rouge! show on Broadway earlier than anticipated.
Megan was scheduled to portray Zidler in Moulin Rouge! The Musical from March 24 through to May 17, but she has now revealed that her last performance as part of the cast will be on May 1.
“It’s been such an honor to be part of thee Moulin Rouge family and I’ve met so many amazing people in this theater!” she wrote on Instagram. “Y’all work so hard and I have so much respect for the dedication, the stamina, the work ethic, the time and the effort y’all put into the work!”
She gave a special shoutout to the cast and crew for making her feel so welcome, and making the experience a “meaningful” one for her.
“To all the Hotties that showed up or planned to attend, thank you for supporting me during this incredible journey!” she continued. “I LOVE YALL 🥹 See you soon 💙.”
Just last week, Megan Thee Stallion accused NBA player Klay Thompson, who currently plays for the Dallas Mavericks, of cheating on her during their relationship.
“Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous?’” Megan wrote on her Instagram Stories. “Bitch I need a REAL break after this one.”
She later confirmed via a representative that she “made the decision” to end her relationship with the NBA star.
“Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward,” the statement read.
Following the news of her breakup, a video showed her breaking down in tears during the curtain call for Moulin Rouge! The Musical. WNBA star Angel Reese applauded Meg for showing strength to keep performing despite her very public breakup.
"It's the way you show up even while carrying so much," Reese wrote. "That's what makes you THAT girl. You always have a little sister riding for you at dawn. I love you, sister.”
