Megan Thee Stallion has publicly ended her relationship with Dallas Mavericks player Klay Thompson, accusing him of cheating in an Instagram Story.
On Saturday (April 25), the 3-time Grammy winner posted a message about the NBA player (who she didn’t explicitly name, but whose identity was clear) cheating, despite the fact that she had gotten close with his family members.
“Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be “monogamous?” Megan wrote.
“Bitch I need a REAL break after this one. Bye yall,” she concluded.”
The rapper told Complex via a rep: “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
The former couple went public with their relationship last July when Thompson accompanied the “Savage” rapper to her inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation benefit gala. The small forward expressed pride in his then-girlfriend at this event while Megan similarly gushed about being with Thompson on the red carpet.
As the months went on, Megan and Thompson flaunted their love on social media, whether going on mini-golf outings or alluding to purchasing a home together. In February, the Houston native would reveal that she was “down to marry” the athlete.
But as Megan potentially readies herself for another Hot Girl Summer, a relationship might not be in the cards. Thompson also appears to be undergoing a career transition, possibly being traded from the Mavericks after his third and final contractual season with the team. Earlier this month, Thompson shared his uncertainty about continuing with the Mavs during a press conference.
Megan has kept herself busy lately by launching a new swimwear collection and being the first woman to play Zidler in her limited run of Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
