Mase was baffled at the thought that Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson were destined to marry following news of their breakup.
On the Monday (April 27) episode of podcast It Is What It Is, Megan and Thompson’s breakup was explained by Treasure "Stat Baby" Wilson, which was met with laughter from Mase.
“What was she expecting?” Mase asked.
After Stat Baby explained that Thompson has seen a performance decline in his time with the Dallas Mavericks and rarely posted his relationships on social media before dating Megan, Mase was still skeptical.
“Does settle down mean settle?” Mase jokingly asked around the 58-minute mark of the video below.
“This whole idea with with Megan Thee Stallion, I think her reputation precedes her,” he continued. “And because her reputation precedes her, when things go a certain way, you don’t get the good fortune of it.”
Cam’ron had a similar perspective and warned against making relationships public before listing off the men that Megan has dated, including rappers Pardison Fontaine and Moneybagg Yo, and NBA player Torrey Craig.
“And he was supposed to marry her?” Mase asked, referring to Thompson. “No, he wasn’t supposed to marry her if that’s the list.”
Cam’ron then explained that public figures “can’t get mad at people being opinionated” when their relationships are widely-known. Last week, the 3-time Grammy winner announced via Instagram Stories that she and Thompson had called it quits after the athlete allegedly cheated on her and doubted that he could be monogamous.
In a follow-up statement to Complex, Megan said that “fidelity and respect” were “non-negotiable” for her in a relationship. “I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity,” she continued.
The exes went public with their relationship last July and throughout the last year, they brought fans into their relationship with social media posts of them canoodling and presumably moving in together.
