Drake’s beloved Toronto Raptors have been eliminated from the NBA playoffs, with the Cleveland Cavaliers marking the victory by poking fun at his upcoming Iceman album.
The Cavs came out on top in Sunday’s game with a final score of 114-102, immediately taking the celebration to social media. In one post, seen below, the team’s official Instagram and X accounts referenced Drake’s recent album release date-revealing ice structure. In their take, a massive “W” is emblazoned on the front of a similar structure, with the caption reading, simply, “DEFROSTED.”
The taunting didn’t stop there, however. In another post, the Cavs included an animation of Toronto’s CN Tower, famously featured on the cover of Drake’s Views album, which just last week marked its 10th anniversary.
“Turned the 6 upside down,” reads the caption of that one.
Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy-winning Drake diss “Not Like Us” also got a spin inside the arena at Sunday’s game, as seen in the clip below.
For now, these playful taunts haven’t spurred a response from Drake, whose Iceman album is dated for May 15.
The album will mark the Toronto native’s first full-length solo studio effort since 2023’s For All the Dogs. While we don’t yet have official word on what will make the final tracklist, possible contenders include “Dog House,” a song released last year featuring Yeat and Julia Wolf.
“I’m so excited to be a part of this track!” Wolf told Complex back in September. “It’s so fun to see our two worlds collide. It’s insane to have such an impactful artist like Drake even ask for me to be involved.”
