Drake might’ve been cheering on his hometown team, but his jokes didn’t hit right in Los Angeles.

According to Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas, the clubhouse took issue with the rapper’s social media trolling of Shohei Ohtani during the 2025 World Series. While Drake’s posts were meant to celebrate the Toronto Blue Jays’ Game 5 victory, the Dodgers viewed them as a sign of disrespect toward their superstar.

“That [Drake’s trolling] doesn’t go unnoticed,” Rojas told TMZ. “When you kind of disrespect, a little bit, the best player in the game. Not understanding the quality of the person and what the guy has done for baseball. … You don’t have to do that, man.”

Drake’s posts came after Toronto pitcher Trey Yesavage dominated L.A.’s lineup in Game 5, holding Ohtani hitless in four at-bats. The Canadian megastar then took to Instagram to poke fun at the two-way phenom, adding fuel to the rivalry as the series tightened. Take a look at the posts below.

While the Dodgers went on to win the championship in seven games, thanks in part to Rojas’s game-tying homer in the ninth, players didn’t forget Drake’s comments. Rojas said the trolling actually sparked Kiké Hernández’s subtle revenge during the team’s victory parade. During his speech, Hernández made a slick reference to one of Drake’s biggest hits, “Big Rings.”

“Playing the most games in October for this franchise, for this really big team that has a lot of really big rings,” he said, drawing laughs from fans and teammates.
