Drake Gets Trolled on Social Media After Dodgers Beat Blue Jays in World Series

Both Fox and the Los Angeles Dodgers shared social media posts referencing Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" following the final game.

Fans online are having a field day by drawing a link connecting the Los Angeles Dodgers' World Series victory over the Toronto Blue Jays to the ongoing cultural rivalry between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.

After the Dodgers defeated the Blue Jays 5-4 on Saturday (Nov. 1) to win the deciding seventh game, Drake, who was in attendance at Toronto's Rogers Centre, became an instant target for jokes on social media about the so-called "Drake curse." Drizzy also faced memes about losing both the rap feud and the World Series by proxy.

Here are some of the memes:

Fox even fanned the flames by uploading a photoshopped image of Lamar sitting in a car, grinning beside the World Series trophy with smoke billowing behind him. Behind the car stood Drake, crossing his arms. Across the ground, bold letters spelled out "THEY NOT LIKE US."

The Dodgers' official account joined in with a group photo captioned, "THEY STILL NOT LIKE US."

Recently, news broke that Drake was named in a class action lawsuit accusing him, streamer Adin Ross, and Sweepstakes Limited, the parent company of online casino Stake, of "deceptive business practices."

The plaintiffs, New Mexico residents Nathaniel Torres and Rory Michie, claim they lost money gambling through Stake.us, which they describe as a "virtual clone" of Stake.com, and allege that the site falsely markets itself as a "social casino" while violating New Mexico's gambling and consumer protection laws, as all forms of online gambling are illegal in the state.

The complaint also claims that Stake's "free play" marketing exploits young users and those with gambling addictions, and that Drake and Ross promoted Stake.com and Stake.us "under deeply fraudulent pretenses," allegedly using "house money" provided by the company.

While a Stake spokesperson said the company would "vigorously defend this and all such claims," Ross dismissed the accusations as "fucking bullshit." Drake has not commented.

Torres and Michie seek to recover their gambling losses and restitution for others similarly affected in New Mexico.
