Los Angeles Dodgers Fans Tear Gassed During World Series Win Celebration

Authorities released tear gas on fans who were lighting fireworks and throwing bottles.

Police hit Los Angeles Dodgers fans with tear gas in the streets of the city after the team won the World Series on Monday (Nov. 1).

After the MLB team won the highly competitive series, some fans reportedly celebrated by lighting fireworks, standing on cars, and getting into altercations with police.

Local authorities deployed tear gas in downtown Los Angeles after officers were allegedly hit with bottles and industrial-sized fireworks.

Around 12:30 a.m. PST, the Los Angeles Police Department issued a tactical alert and provided dispersal orders, alerting anyone who didn’t clear the area know that they could be arrested.

Although tear gas was deployed, police say there were no major injuries, per TMZ.

The Dodgers won one of the most exciting World Series in recent memory. They ended Game 7 against the Toronto Blue Jays with a 5-4 win, earning their ninth World Series win and their third since 2020.

Athletes reacted to the win on social media, with LeBron James simply writing “WOW!!!!!!” to capture his excitement. Joel Embiid, had a few more words, writing “OH MY F GOD.”

James followed up by congratulating the team in all caps for their win. Luka Dončić also posted about the win, writing, “What a game!! Wow, congrats @Dodgers.”
