ASAP Rocky thinks his presence at Madison Square Garden during Game 4 of the NBA Finals was good luck for the New York Knicks.
The Knicks are just one win away from claiming their first title in over 50 years following Game 4, which saw the team deliver an incredible 107-106 comeback victory after the San Antonio Spurs were leading as much as 29 points. Plenty of the Knicks’ most famous fans were in attendance, including ASAP Rocky, who joined others on the court after the win to celebrate the historic moment.
“We was down by like 20!” he said in a brief interview on the court. “It’s because of me, I’m the good luck charm! I was up there cheering from the box, going crazy. Thank me later.”
The 29-point comeback victory from the Knicks is the biggest single-game comeback in the history of the NBA Finals. This season’s games have proved to be electric so far, with the Knicks winning the first two back-to-back, scoring just one point more than the Spurs in Game 2. The Spurs were able to secure a victory during Game 3, proving that it was far from over yet, but after the Knicks’ 107-106 win on Wednesday (June 10), the San Antonio franchise has to put everything on the line to force Game 6.
Rocky wasn’t the only famous Knicks fan in attendance for Game 4 at Madison Square Garden.
Some of the biggest names in attendance included Adam Sandler, Larry David, Ben Stiller, Spike Lee, Tracy Morgan, Nas, Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, Jerry Seinfeld, Fat Joe, Michael J. Fox, Jeremy Lin, and Iman Shumpert, among countless others. Even Taylor Swift was in attendance, who was a much more welcome good luck presence than Donald Trump was during Game 3 (which, coincidentally, the Knicks lost… curious).
