Saturday Night Live’s Kam Patterson is bashing Klay Thompson after the NBA pro’s split from Megan Thee Stallion—and making known that he’s available for the rebound.
In the “Weekly Update” segment during the May 2 episode of SNL, Patterson broached the topic on everyone’s minds right now: Thompson and Megan have wrapped up their relationship of nearly a year.
Patterson sprang to Megan’s defense and ridiculed the Dallas Mavericks player.
“Who even is this guy?” asked Patterson, prompting cast member Michael Che to explain that Thompson is a “world-famous pro basketball player.”
“Wait a minute, there’s a WNBA for men? What would you even call that? The MNBA?” Patterson joked before using Thompson’s first name for some disrespect. “To me, he’s not Klay, he’s dirt.”
Once he got his Thompson disses out of the way, Patterson proclaimed that Megan “needs a real man.”
Che prodded him to explain what makes a “real man,” and Patterson basically described himself: someone who’s “probably employed in a thriving industry,” such as “entertainment” and “working on a “sketch television show.”
Patterson wrapped up his jokes by shooting a clearer shot at Megan.
“Megan, if you’re watching, let me talk to you directly,” he said.
On April 25, Megan said on her Instagram Story that she’d split with Thompson and accused him of infidelity.
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house, got ‘cold feet’,” Megan wrote. “Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous????’”
In a statement to Complex, Megan said, via her rep, “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
Thompson responded to the announcement by going boating, saying that he’s “back on the high seas.”
