Seattle Storm guard Lexie Brown wants someone to come to her defense after she was alleged to be romantically involved with Klay Thompson throughout his relationship with Megan Thee Stallion.
On Thursday (April 30) the WNBA star appeared on Fox News Digital to ward off rumors that she had an affair with Thompson. In an announcement about their breakup last week, Megan accused the Dallas Mavericks player of cheating and no longer wanting to be monogamous after nearly a year of dating. Brown’s name was randomly thrown into online gossip about Thompson and Meg’s split, leading to the athlete being harassed by some members of the rapper’s Hotties fanbase.
“Me and Klay do know each other because we both play professional basketball,” Brown told Fox News. “I would have considered him a friend. I do not know Meg the Stallion at all. Today, I'm still the only person that has denied this entire situation of my involvement and claimed that this is one hundred percent false.”
Brown added that she’s still the only person who has defended herself and has “no idea how to process that.”
“And that's the last thing that I'm like struggling to process is that there is this massive outcry for protecting Black women and nobody has mentioned Lexi Brown's name in any of those conversations,” she continued. “I wouldn't have minded if either one of them came out and said it because at the end of the day, they're the ones that are in the relationship.”
Brown also called for a member of either Thompson or Megan’s teams to address the issue for the harassment to cease. “So for them to just allow me to get dragged for a lot of people to allow me to get dragged through the mud for, it seems like three, three, four days now, knowing one hundred percent what was being said was false, that surely somebody would step in and say, ‘No, this is a lie. Please point your fingers somewhere else or don't point them at all, but don't point them at Lexi.’”
The professional basketball player went on to explain that death threats against her and her family members have gotten so heightened that she’s hired security to escort her in certain areas. The 31-year-old previously spoke on the matter in a statement posted to her Instagram Stories earlier this week, reiterating that “none of it is true.”
