A few of Megan Thee Stallion’s fans claim that they contacted Etsy witches following her breakup with Klay Thompson.
On Saturday (April 25), the 31-year-old rapper announced she called it quits with the 36-year-old NBA star, alleging infidelity and “horrible mood swings and treatment” towards her.
Hours later, several of Megan’s “Hotties” announced they would be taking matters into their own hands, saying they were contacting witches on Etsy, apparently to seek retribution.
If you’re wondering where the obsession with Etsy witches began, you might recall that conservative pundit Charlie Kirk was fatally shot on September 10, 2025 — just two days after Jezebel published a piece claiming they paid Etsy witches to “curse” him.
In the wake of Kirk’s death, the website added an editor’s note condemning Kirk’s shooting “in the strongest possible terms,” adding that they “do not endorse, encourage, or excuse political violence of any kind.”
It’s worth noting that none of the posts reviewed by Complex have explicitly called for Thompson to be a victim of violence. It’s also unclear if these users have actually solicited and paid for any services from witches, or if they’re simply joking.
Megan, who had been publicly dating Thompson since last July, claimed he had been cheating on her through a message shared to her Instagram Story on Saturday (April 25).
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house... got ‘cold feet,’” she wrote. “Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don't know if you can be ‘monogamous’???? bitch I need a REAL break after this one .. bye yall.”
Through her rep, Megan also told Complex in a statement: “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
Per reports from fans, Megan did not perform at Saturday’s 2 p.m. matinee of Moulin Rouge! on Broadway, where she’s been playing the role of Zidler since March. The performance continued with standby Patrick Clanton filling in for the rapper.
However, Megan took the stage for the 8 p.m. performance and became visibly emotional during the show’s curtain call as fans cheered for her.
