'Euphoria' Is Finally Back: Zendaya Returns as Rue in New Trailer for Season 3

The series returns after four years away this April.

Euphoria is finally (almost) back, and now we have a new trailer to pore over ahead of the Sam Levinson-helmed series’ third season debut.

Wednesday (Jan. 14), HBO gave fans the most in-depth look yet at where we’ll find Rue (played by Emmy and Golden Globe winner Zendaya) and company when the acclaimed series returns April 12.

“A few years after high school, I don’t know if life was exactly what I wished,” Rue tells us in the opening moments of the new trailer. “But somehow, for the first time, I was beginning to have faith.”

This presumed state of peace appears to be short-lived, however, as Zendaya is then seen being approached by a familiar face over owed money, thus setting Rue off on a collision course with her past.

Alexa Demie, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, and Colman Domingo are among the other returning stars you can expect to see in Euphoria’s third run.

At one point in the new trailer, Elordi’s Nate laments the content creation strategy of Sweeney’s Cassie.

“I work all day, and my bride-to-be is spread-eagled on the internet,” Nate complains, to which Cassie replies, “I was just making content.”

The new batch of episodes will arrive just over four years after the rollout for the series’ second season wrapped, and the timing, particularly for Zendaya, couldn’t be better.

2026 will also see the Disney Channel alum rolling out not one but four highly anticipated films, starting with The Drama in April. She’ll follow this up with Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey in July, a new Spider-Man film that same month, and the third Dune entry in December.

Zendaya isn’t the only Euphoria star to be enjoying a special kind of momentum as the show’s long-awaited third season kicks into gear. Elordi scored widespread acclaim last year for his performance in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, ultimately netting a Golden Globe nod. Sweeney, meanwhile, can currently be seen alongside Amanda Seyfried in The Housemaid, a veritable box office hit that was recently confirmed to be getting a sequel.
