Matthew Lawrence has revealed that he mentally envisioned Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas before they became an official couple.
The pair, who are hosts of new Hallmark dating show Second Chance Love, were guests on the Thursday (January 8) episode of The Tamron Hall Show. Lawrence and Chilli have been dating since 2022, but around the five-minute mark of the episode (which can be seen below), the Mrs. Doubtfire actor explained how he had a vision about the TLC singer shortly before meeting her.
"I had a really crazy experience about three weeks before I actually met
Chilli," Lawrence told Hall. "I had this incredible feeling of warmth because I was going through kind of a rough time in my life. And I had this crazy warm feeling come over me and then I had this flash of this person turning around and I saw the outline of baby hairs."
"No joke. My mom can attest," added the actor, who divorced professional dancer Cheryl Burke in 2022 after three years of marriage. "I walked
in. I was like, 'Mom, I just got this crazy feeling.'"
While Lawrence had the image of Chilli, he didn't see the singer's face in this vision, until the exact scene took place when they finally met.
"I'm in the plane and this is after we'd already interacted for a bit at this work thing, and she was laughing and talking to T-Boz and I was like overhearing and I turned around...and I saw what I saw three weeks or four weeks previously," Lawrence explained.
The actor added that the moment "tripped him out" to the point that he felt "stuck," although he felt like he "couldn't walk away" from Chilli.
While promoting their new show, the couple have expressed through various interviews how they keep their relationship strong through healthy communication and a refusal to argue.
