Chilli and Matthew Lawrence have been building one of the more unexpected celebrity romances of the past few years.

According to People, the TLC icon and the former Boy Meets World star began dating in 2022, eventually making things Instagram official with a playful video of the two dancing in matching pajamas.

At the time, Chilli summed up the moment with a line that quickly became a fan favorite: “God has perfect timing. Never early and never late.”

Since then, the couple has kept their relationship relatively low-drama and intentional—something that now carries directly into their first professional collaboration.

That project is Second Chance Love, a new unscripted series heading to Hallmark+ on January 1. The show places five former couples in Sardinia, Italy, giving them two weeks to explore whether old feelings still have a future.

The participants span generations, from their 30s to their 70s, and their past relationships ended between 5 and 40 years ago. Some are reconnecting with high school sweethearts, while others are revisiting much later-in-life relationships that never quite found closure.

Lawrence introduces the premise in the show’s trailer by teasing the emotional stakes. “Five unique couples from across the country are about to join us to find out if a lost relationship might just be the love of a lifetime,” he says.

Chilli follows with a reminder that location matters too: “The next two weeks will be filled with romantic adventures and relationship-renewing activities. I mean, how could you not fall in love in a place like this?”

Beyond hosting, both Chilli and Lawrence serve as executive producers, a role that allows them to shape how love and reconciliation are presented on-screen. “This project is special to both Matthew and I for several reasons,” Chilli said in a statement. “As executive producers and hosts, we can’t wait to share the inspiration behind the pursuit of true love.”

She also emphasized why the partnership made sense for her, adding that she’s “always been very specific about brand alignment because representation matters in every aspect of partnership.”

According to Hallmark Media’s head of unscripted programming David Stefanou, the concept taps into something deeply relatable. “There’s something undeniably powerful about a love that endures, even across time and distance,” he said.
