Clive Davis, the legendary music executive, died on Monday at his New York City home. He was 94.

His family confirmed his death, the New York Times reports. He was recently admitted to the hospital for an upper respiratory infection.

Davis was known for shaping the careers of Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, and more.
