Sherrone Moore has claimed he's innocent weeks after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a fellow University of Michigan staffer.

In December, the former Michigan Wolverines head coach was ousted from the university after it was claimed "credible evidence" was found in relation to the alleged relationship.

After the firing, it's claimed that the former athletic coach confronted the staffer at her home on December 8 brandishing knives and telling the woman that she ruined his life. Moore was later arrested on charges of felony home invasion and stalking but was released on a $25,000 bond and ordered to wear a GPS tracker.

On Thursday (January 22), Moore appeared in Ann Arbor court, the first time since his arraignment in December. Joining Moore was his wife, Kelli Moore, whom the former Michigan University employee shares three children with.

"Sherrone Moore is innocent of these charges. Today, on behalf of Mr. Moore, we filed a motion to quash the arrest warrant and dismiss the complaint," said the coach's lawyer, Ellen Michaels.

Michaels added that the "warrant was issued based on false and misleading statements presented as facts." "We're confident the truth will come out in court under oath where it belongs," she continued.

Upon the charges being filed on December 12, Washtenaw County assistant prosecutor Kati Rezmierski said that the female staffer fully cooperated with authorities after ending the alleged relationship with Moore.

The woman reportedly still has a position at UM, where Moore was named permanent head coach in January 2024 and earned $5.6 million in an annual base salary and additional compensation.

Moore's next hearing is scheduled for February 17.
