The Nebraska Cornhuskers have spun a U-turn after trolling Taylor Swift following their win against the Cincinnati Bearcats.
According to BroBible, the University of Nebraska’s social media team photoshopped one of Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement photos (which you can see below), swapping out the singer's NFL fiancé with the Huskers mascot, Herbie Husker.
However, it looks like the team were defeated by the Swifties, as the image was deleted by Friday morning (August 29).
Swift attended the Huskers-Bearcats game because Travis and his brother, Jason, are University of Cincinnati alums. The Huskers and Bearcats game also took place at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Travis' home turf as a Chiefs player.
Nebraska beat Cincinnati 20-17 and reportedly posted the photoshopped image of Swift and Herbie to both the university’s main and the football team accounts.
Swift and Kelce announced their engagement on Tuesday (August 26). "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," the post read, with the caption subsequently going viral.
The pair have been dating since July 2023, something Swift touched on during a December 2023 interview with Time.
"We started hanging out right after that," she told the publication. "So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple."
Swift was soon spotted supporting Kelce at his games, while he attended multiple stops of her Eras Tour. The pop icon is now gearing up for the release of her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl.
