Following the Toronto Blue Jays’ gutting loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series, Drake shouted out the team for their impressive performance, even if it wasn’t enough to overcome Shohei Ohtani.

In a post shared on Instagram, Drake congratulated the Jays alongside a video that appeared to show him pressing a button on his phone to open up the roof to Toronto’s Rogers Centre. “Congrats to the Jays for a dream season and a legendary World Series fight!!!” he wrote in the caption of the post. “Shit got so sticky I had to take a break from @Stake and get some air…”

Fans had a lot of fun drawing a link between the Dodgers’ World Series victory over the Blue Jays and Drake’s rivalry with Kendrick Lamar. Drizzy was in attendance for the final game of the World Series on Saturday (Nov. 1), and almost immediately, fans joked that the so-called “Drake curse” had once again thwarted a sports team’s hopes of victory. Even the Dodgers’ official account got in on the jokes, with a post featuring the entire team captioned with, “THEY STILL NOT LIKE US.”

Drake’s post also once again saw him promoting Stake, despite the lawsuit he’s facing from two New Mexico residents who accused him, streamer Adin Ross, and Stake’s parent company, Sweepstakes Limited, of “deceptive business practices.”

In the lawsuit, the two New Mexico residents claimed they lost money through Stake.us, which they described as a “virtual clone” of Stake.com that was falsely marketed as a “social casino” to circumvent the state’s gambling and consumer protection laws. All online gambling is illegal in the state of New Mexico. The complaint also alleged that Stake provided Drake and Adin Ross with “house money” to gamble with in front of live viewers, exploiting young users and individuals struggling with gambling addictions.

Ross dismissed the lawsuit as “fucking bullshit,” whereas a Stake spokesperson said they would “vigorously defend this and all such claims.” Drake has not commented on the legal action. A man in Missouri has also filed a lawsuit against the three entities, making similar claims.
