Ray J has shared what sounds like a troubling health update after previously telling fans he “almost died.”
In clips circulating on social media, seemingly taken from a recent stream, the 45-year-old said “2027 is definitely a wrap for me” and expressed optimism that his family was “gon’ be straight” no matter what happens.
“My baby mama gon’ be straight, my kids gon’ be straight,” he said, as seen below. “If they wanna spend all the money, they can spend it, but I did my part here.”
In the same clip, Ray J expressed regret for elements of his lifestyle.
“I shouldn’t have went this hard, bro,” he said. “I shouldn’t have went that hard. And then, when it’s all done, burn me. Don’t bury me.”
From there, he let fans know he has an upcoming checkup, adding that his parents would be accompanying him. He also gave a shoutout to his sister Brandy, saying she had “paid my bills for the rest of the year.’
In another clip, seen below and seemingly taken from the same stream, Ray J reflected on a period in his life during which he was consuming “four or five bottles” of an unspecified variety of alcohol per day, all while also taking 10 Adderalls at the same rate. In doing so, the Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood alum and Redemption artist claimed, he has now “fucked my heart up on the right side.”
Elaborating further, Ray J pointed to a sense of indestructibility he used to feel, ultimately advising fans to put a focus on taking care of themselves.
“I fucked up,” he said. “I think I thought I was a bigger n***a, like, I had more weight. I thought I was a big n***a. So I’m like, I can handle all the alcohol. I can handle all the Adderall. I can handle all the drugs. I can handle everything. But I couldn’t. My shit fucked up, and it curbed my time. … I fucked my shit up real bad.”
Previously, Ray J took to Instagram to reveal his claim of having “just almost died,” this after he was reported earlier this month to have been hospitalized for pneumonia and heart pains.
“I wanna thank everybody for praying for me,” he said in an IG video dated Jan. 25. “I was in the hospital. My heart’s only beating, like, 25 percent. But as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, then everything will be alright. So thank you for all your prayers.”
