Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi of Jersey Shore fame reflected on her cervical cancer diagnosis during a new interview on Good Morning America.
The reality television star, 38, revealed in a TikTok posted in January that she had known about the development of precancerous cells and abnormal pap smear results for roughly four years and that cancerous cells had ultimately been found in her cervix.
Snooki’s GMA visit was just as emotional, with the television personality recalling that she hadn’t prepared a will and was concerned for her husband, Jionni LaValle, and their three children.
“I was terrified. I was hysterically crying in my car like, ‘What am I going to do? I have three kids. I got to do my will,’” Snooki told ABC News’ Lara Spencer.
Snooki, who is unvaccinated, said she kept “putting off” doctor’s visits out of fear.
Although her cancer has not spread, the Jersey Shore star will be undergoing a hysterectomy to prevent the cancer from returning. The mother of three also shared that she’s done having children but shared her sadness about not having the option to expand her family.
“Just knowing that you can’t [have more children], it made me feel like I'm not a mom,” Snooki admitted.
The entertainer went on to explain that she’s discouraged her children from thinking that she’s “dying” and said that her Jersey Shore cast mates were “freaking out” about her health scare.
“We’ve always said, ‘Well, we'll continue filming until we're in a nursing home,’” she said.
According to medical experts, women 21 to 64 are urged to take Pap test screenings every three years to find changes in the cervix that may develop into cancer.
