FKA Twigs has sued her ex-boyfriend, actor Shia LaBeouf, years after they reached a settlement over sexual battery.
According to TMZ, the Grammy-winning experimental pop vocalist, who dated the entertainer from 2018 to 2019, alleges in the lawsuit that LaBeouf attempted to silence her with the terms of NDA arrangements in the previous suit. The lawsuit, which was filed in 2020, was settled five years later.
FKA Twigs, born Tahliah Barrett, claims that the NDA is in violation of California's Stand Together Against Non-Disclosure Act, which forbids confidentiality clauses in the matters of sexual assault, sexual harassment and discrimination. The singer also alleges that last December, the former Even Stevens star filed a secret arbitration complaint against her and is seeking an “exorbitant" monetary amount from her.
The vocalist now argues that the NDA terms are invalid and seeks for a judge to formally support her stance. One year after their breakup, FKA Twigs alleged that LaBeouf physically assaulted her, sexually abused her and knowingly gave her an STI.
"I think naively I thought it would be like any other break-up, that I'd be sad for six months to a year, and then one day I'd wake up and everything would be fine. But the fact is being abused changes the whole of your nervous system,” she told British Vogue in 2024.
While on Channel 5 With Andrew Callaghan last month, LaBeouf said that he’s learned to “walk away” from a relationship when it’s souring. The actor also called FKA Twigs a “good girl.”
“The issue with me and her had to do with jealousy and bullshit manipulation, and some stuff she talked about and some stuff that you know,” he said. “But that's my fault too right there.”
