Christie Brinkley is celebrating her 72nd birthday on Monday, February 2. In honor of the supermodel’s special day, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit shared some of her most iconic bathing suit shots on Instagram.
“Iconic then. Iconic now. Iconic always. Happy Birthday to SI Swimsuit Legend @christiebrinkley,” the post’s caption read. The outlet included nine photos of Brinkley, putting many of her most stunning looks together as part of the birthday tribute.
Brinkley loved the walk down memory lane and took to her Instagram Stories to reshare the post and to thank the outlet for the birthday wishes.
“Thank you @siswim for this birthday wish but also for giving me some of the happiest, most beautiful memories I'll cherish forever,” Brinkley wrote.
Meanwhile, fans took to the comments section of the post to wish Brinkley a happy birthday and to react to the incredible photoshoots that the model has done with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit over the years.
“Probably my favorite Swimsuit model ever! And that wasn’t a easy decision because there are so many great models out there,” one person wrote.

As for Brinkley, she’s not too concerned with getting older. In July 2024, she shared her thoughts on aging in a candid Instagram caption.
“All this talk about age! But I think 70 is the new 40 a great time to take on new challenges , volunteer, travel , or start a new company. The sky is the limit. Now is a great time to make your dreams and goals a reality! Here’s to loving the age you’re in,” she wrote.
