A player accused of leaking early footage of the Xbox-exclusive Forza Horizon 6 has reportedly been hit with one of the wildest punishments gaming has seen in years: a ban lasting nearly 8,000 years.

According to Kotaku, the player, a modder known online as DVS Squad, was among several users targeted by developer Playground Games after gameplay clips from the racing title surfaced online ahead of launch. The enforcement action locked him out of Forza titles until the year 9999.

The massive suspension followed claims that leaked builds of Forza Horizon 6 were circulating before release. DVS Squad later uploaded a seven-minute response video explaining that the ban didn’t stop him from accessing the game for long.

He claimed no cheating software was used to obtain the footage and said he was already familiar with bypassing enforcement systems tied to modding. “I knew the risk, I simply didn’t care,” he said in the video.

He also stated that previous bans had not prevented him from returning to online play with new accounts.

Microsoft’s official enforcement guidelines state that severe violations can trigger permanent account suspensions or even hardware-level bans that prevent an entire device from accessing Xbox services.

Xbox also operates a strike system in which repeated violations can escalate from short suspensions to year-long bans, though the company reserves the right to issue permanent penalties immediately in extreme cases.

Microsoft says device bans are generally tied to “repeated and egregious violations,” including hardware modification, fraud, phishing, or attempts to run illegitimate software. The company also notes that some enforcement actions cannot be reversed after review.

DVS Squad, however, appeared largely unfazed by the punishment. “I’m kind of glad because it just gives my channel more attention,” he said, later adding that losing progression on one account was not a major setback because he could rebuild progress elsewhere.

Despite the ban drama, the modder unexpectedly praised the game itself. DVS Squad defended Forza Horizon 6 visuals after some viewers criticized the leaked footage, explaining that he was not running the title at maximum settings.

He called the game “absolutely stunning” and later described it as potentially one of the strongest entries in the franchise for racing fans.
