Following his hospitalization at the start of the year, Ray J has offered another health update and revealed that he’s on eight different medications amid heart problems.

According to TMZ, the artist says he has been prescribed multiple medications after being told by doctors that it’s unclear how much longer he has to live because of his heart issues. He’s been told to stay in bed and stay on top of his medication, which includes Lipitor, Jardiance, and Entresto to help manage his cholesterol levels. Those three medications are often prescribed to people at risk of heart failure, according to the report.

He said that he’s been cautioned that he could need to get a pacemaker or defibrillator, but he won’t know for certain until he returns to the doctors for another check-up in a fortnight. Ray J has also been told that he’s not allowed to smoke or drink, which he admitted is difficult but he’s trying his best. He’s currently under a criminal protective order that prevents him from seeing his two children with his ex, Princess Love, and the experience made him realize he “need[s] to change [his] ways of living.”

“If I come out of this, I’ll be stronger and a better person,” Ray J told TMZ.

Earlier this year, Ray J was hospitalized in Las Vegas for pneumonia and heart pains. He also suffered from pneumonia in 2021, which he was cautioned was serious enough that it could be fatal. He told fans in a recent stream that he “almost died” following his recent hospitalization, and said, “2027 is definitely a wrap for me.”

Despite his health concerns, he indicated that he believes his family is going to be okay.

“My baby mama gon’ be straight, my kids gon’ be straight,” he said earlier this month. “If they wanna spend all the money, they can spend it, but I did my part here. … I shouldn’t have went this hard, bro. I shouldn’t have went that hard. And then, when it’s all done, burn me. Don’t bury me.”

He also revealed at the time that his sister Brandy has helped with his bills.

Additionally, he vowed to live a better life in 2026 after a particularly tough 2025, which involved various public incidents with the mother of his children.

“Last year was a crazy year, it was a 'crash out campaign.’ It was intense, but God made it through and put us in the right position,” he recently told fans. “Thank you to my family too, my mom, my dad, my sister, for having my back in this critical time. My sister came through for me, man, I needed her.”
