IShowSpeed was not happy about Lionel Messi leading Argentina to a 2-0 win against Austria at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
During a stream at the Dallas Stadium for Argentina's 2026 World Cup Group J match against Austria on Monday (June 22), the self-proclaimed Cristiano Ronaldo superfan was there to see Messi break a World Cup record for goals and lead the Argentinian national team to victory. Speed has remained loyal to Ronaldo since day one, which meant that he wasn’t too pleased when Messi led him on an emotional rollercoaster during the game on Monday.
Early on in the match, Speed celebrated Messi missing a penalty against Austria with a backflip. However, his celebratory mood didn’t last long.
In the 38th minute, Messi scored 17th career World Cup goal, surpassing Miroslav Klose's previous all-time record of 16. The Argentine captain, 38, now has the most goals in the history of the FIFA World Cup. Speed was joined by his brother Jamal and his father, who erupted into applause when Messi scored, much to the streamer’s chagrin.
When the match reached halftime, it dawned on Speed that Messi is the top-scorer in World Cup history. His dad was clearly trying to wind Speed up, wearing an Argentina t-shirt and proudly proclaiming Messi to be better than Ronaldo. Ronaldo, by comparison, has scored 15 goals throughout his World Cup career.
When Messi scored his second goal against Austria at the end of the game, bringing his total World Cup goals to 18, Speed immediately left the venue looking upset.
“Let’s go, we gotta go,” he said, as fans attempted to get his attention.
Luckily for Speed, he’ll get to see Ronaldo play when Brazil faces off against Scotland on Wednesday (June 24).
