Anticipation is high for the third season of HBO’s Euphoria — and the show’s crew just got a major update. On Wednesday, July 23, HBO announced that Hans Zimmer is set to score Euphoria Season 3, alongside Labrinth.

Singer and instrumentalist Labrinth has been at the helm of the show’s score for its previous two seasons. Over the course of the show’s run, fans have lauded the soundtrack and made songs like “Still Don’t Know My Name” and “All for Us” go viral.

The show’s creator, Sam Levinson, has long been a fan of Zimmer and revealed in a statement that he “wrote this season to the score of Interstellar and True Romance,” both of which, Zimmer composed. With Zimmer and Labrinth side by side, Levinson hopes their contributions will “push [Euphoria] to new heights.”

Zimmer has earned an Oscar nomination for Best Original Score 12 times — and won in 1995 for The Lion King and 2022 for Dune.

"It's an honor to join this incredible team of storytellers led by the visionary Sam Levinson,” said Zimmer in a statement. “Together, they have crafted such a bold and moving series that has meant so much to audiences. Labrinth's music has shaped the show's identity and I'm looking forward to contributing to the ongoing story and helping shape this new season through music."

Euphoria’s third season is currently in production, with actors Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, Eric Dane, Colman Domingo, and Maude Apatow all returning. Joining the show’s third season are Spanish singer Rosalía, Sharon Stone, Anna Van Patten, Marshawn Lynch, Priscilla Delgado, and Kadeem Hardison. Storyline details for characters — both returning and new — have been kept under wraps.

The second season of Euphoria ended in March 2022, with Zendaya’s Rue detailing her sobriety journey. At the time of writing, a premiere date for Euphoria Season 3 has not been announced.
