Don't count on Sydney Sweeney to be uncomfortable when she's baring all onscreen.
The Echo Valley star spoke about the roles she chooses in a new interview with W Magazine, vowing to "challenge" herself. While she admitted to having "really bad stage fright" and giving props to those who "do theater or live talk shows," Sweeney denied being hesitant when it comes to performing in nude scenes.
"I don’t get nervous," she told the publication. "I think that the female body is a very powerful thing. And I’m telling my character’s story, so I owe it to them to tell it well and to do what needs to be done."
The 27-year-old has been nude in films like The Voyeurs and hit HBO show Euphoria, previously having spoke to The Independent in 2022 about toning down her nude scenes with the show's creator, Sam Levinson.
"There are moments where Cassie was supposed to be shirtless and I would tell Sam, 'I don’t really think that’s necessary here’ and he was like, ‘OK, we don’t need it,'" she said, adding that she never felt "pushed" by Levinson to show nudity.
Similar to her comment in W Magazine, Sweeney also told Teen Vogue that the scenes can be "important to the storyline and the character."
"There’s a purpose to what that character is going through. That’s the character," she said. "We all get naked in real life. We show this character’s life and what they’re going through. Cassie’s body is a different form of communication for her."
Sweeney's body has its own fan club, with a Dr. Squatch soap made out of the actress' bathwater being resold for hundreds.
