The Met Gala has returned to New York City, and this year explores Black style and the history of dandyism.
The theme was born from the spring exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, titled “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” and the evening’s dress code, “Tailored For You.”
This year’s co-chairs are Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, ASAP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour. LeBron James is also an honorary chair, though he will miss the event due to his knee injury.

Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh
Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh pulled up to the red carpet in custom Louis Vuitton outfits. Skateboard P wore a textured, white double-breasted suit jacket, black tie, white button-up shirt, and black trousers, while his wife donned a black leather jacket and bodysuit, and tights with the Louis Vuitton emblem.
Zendaya
Zendaya stunned in an all-white suit and matching hat.
Teyana Taylor
Teyana Taylor’s custom Marc Jacobs ensemble was dandy-core. The singer, model, and dancer wore a gray, red, and black pinstriped suit, red button-up shirt, a red-feathered hat, and durag, finished off with a red cape and cane, and tons of bejeweled and floral embellishments.
Colman Domingo
Colman Domingo showed up to the Met Gala in a blue Valentino cape, as a tribute to the late fashion icon, Andre Leon Talley, who passed away in January 2022. Domingo also wore a bespoke Valentino look—perhaps under the cape—which included a black and white checkered suit jacket, white vest, striped off-white button-up shirt, black and white polka-dotted scarf, and gray trousers.
Diana Ross
Diana Ross was born to flex, arriving in a silver beaded dress and a feather-laden cape with a massive train.
Coco Jones
Coco Jones arrived in a jaw-dropping white, beaded suit, created in collaboration with Indian designer Manish Malhotra.
Pusha T
Pusha T wore a burgundy suit, encrusted with jewels.
Whoopi Goldberg
Whoopi Goldberg arrived decked out in her finest, donning a double-layered black suit and top hat.
Lewis Hamilton and Anna Wintour
Lewis Hamilton was seen with Domingo and Anna Wintour. He wore an entirely off-white suit and a matching cap. For her part, Wintour wore a beaded silver floor length gown and a long, pale blue jacket.
Saquon Barkley
Saquon Barkley wore a black Thom Brown suit for his first Met Gala appearence.
Sydney Sweeney
Sydney Sweeney wore a black, sequined Miu Miu dress as an homage to Kim Novak and Joan Crawford.
LaLa Anthony
LaLa Anthony walked the red carpet in a black jumpsuit, adorned with bone-colored gauze fabric.
