Young Thug hopped on social media to let the world know that he’d give practically anything to have Kodak Black sign a recording contract with YSL Records.
Thug took to X on Sunday (June 21) to respond to reports that Black is now independent after ending his deal with Capitol Records. Reposting the announcement from MyMixtapez, Thug wrote, “If he would do a deal with me, I would give that boy whatever he thinks he want #NoCizzy.”
Thug’s claim came days after Black released his ninth studio album, Kodak the Blessing. The project, which was dropped in a surprise release the day after his 29th birthday, features appearances from artists including 1900Rugrat, Rylo Rodriguez, and Fridayy.
If Black were to join YSL Records, he’d join a roster of artists that includes Strick, Yung Kayo, 1300Saint, Tezzus and diamond, and Thug himself. The label previously signed Gunna, Lil Baby, Nine Vicious, and Lil Keed.
Young Thug recently revealed that there’s a YSL compilation album in the works. During a livestream with PlaqueBoyMax, when asked about what he’s working on, Thug made the grand reveal—and even requested the streamer to play the album live when it drops.
“We’re working on this compilation album for YSL,” Thug said. “New label shit. We want you to stream it.”
Elsewhere in the same stream, Thug got on Max’s case for getting a vasectomy before having kids. Max shared that he made the decision after a pregnancy scare.
“I'm not going to lie. I slipped up, and I was just like, ‘No, no more.’ Like, I'm not slipping up no more. But you can reverse it though. But there's a chance that it [can] fuck up,” Max said before asking whether getting the procedure was "stupid."
Thug took a moment to think before he began cackling.
“You gotta be really careful on stream, but yeah, that's stupid,” Thug said. “That's fucking stupid. You got a vasectomy before kids? That's stupid.”
“If you were to die right now, you think God going to let you in?” Thug asked. “No, n****. What the fuck? He put you on earth to reproduce. ‘The only thing I want you to do on this earth.’ All this shit what you doing is cool, n****. He put you here to create. Procreate, kid."
“N***a got a vasectomy before kids,” Thug concluded. “God gonna slap the fuck out yo ass. … A real slap, like, slap ya n**** ass to the lagoon.”
