Bad Bunny paid homage to late Chilean protest singer Víctor Jara at the Chile stop on his world tour.

One of Bad Bunny’s bandmates played an instrumental version of Jara’s protest anthem “El Derecho de Viver in Paz (The Right To Live in Peace)” on a mandolin as the crowd joined in to sing the lyrics.

What made the moment even more significant was that he performed at a stadium that was previously used as a detention and torture center during the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. Jara was murdered in 1973 during Pinochet’s reign.

Bunny also seemingly had a moment of frustration when, according to a fan, he was cut off by fans while trying to sing “Cafe Con Ron.” In a video uploaded by a fan, she explained that during his Chilean show, fans wanted to hear another song, so he ended up retreating backstage to let them sing, seemingly upset.

Bunny is gearing up to perform at Super Bowl LX. Last October, he made a few jokes about how excited MAGA supporters are that he’ll be handling the Halftime Show. “I’m very happy, and I think everyone is happy about it, even Fox News,” he joked during his SNL monologue.

“I’m very excited to be doing the Super Bowl, and I know people all around the world are very happy,” Bunny continued, before delivering a lengthy message to his supporters in Spanish.

Bunny wrapped up his speech with a notice to prep viewers for the Super Bowl. “If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn,” he concluded.

In an official statement after the NFL’s reveal that he’d be performing at the Super Bowl, Bad Bunny revealed how excited he is to perform.

"What I'm feeling goes beyond myself," he said. "It's for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”
