Ahead of the performance, Cardi praised Bunny for taking a stance “against ICE and everything.

A mere one week before Sunday’s performance, Bad Bunny emerged as the Album of the Year victor at the 2026 Grammys. He also took home Best Global Music Performance (for “EoO”) and Best Música Urbana Album (for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS) at the ceremony, bringing his total career wins count to six.

“Before I say thanks to God, I’m gonna say, ICE out,” the Puerto Rican superstar said when accepting the Best Música Urbana Album trophy. “We’re not savages, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens. We are humans, and we are Americans.”

With his Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show performance, the 31-year-old follows in the footsteps of a long line of iconic artists who have brought their own spin to the globally watched football spectacle. Other stars who have taken on the challenge in recent years include Kendrick Lamar, Usher, and Rihanna.

Past Super Bowls have also welcomed Prince, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, and more for memorable sets that are still revisited to this day.
