Cam’ron and Mase Say Cardi B Proves Why They Don’t Date Women From New York

The Harlem duo used Cardi B and Stefon Diggs’ public dispute as a humorous example while discussing New York dating culture on 'It Is What It Is.'

Cam'ron and Mase had a lot to say about dating women from New York during a recent episode of It Is What It Is, using Cardi B's viral argument with Stefon Diggs as the jumping-off point for the conversation.

While reacting to footage showing Cardi and Diggs appearing to argue outside a Maryland coffee shop earlier this month, Cam'ron joked that moments like that are exactly why he avoids dating women from New York.

"To be totally honest with you… this is why I don't deal with women from New York," Cam said during the discussion. "Cardi B is dope, sexy personality, everything… but this is why."

Mase quickly agreed, saying New York women are often much more aggressive and confrontational than women from other places he's lived or traveled to.

"Girls from New York will punch you in your mouth as a guy," Mase said while laughing. "And want you to hit them back."

Cam then told a story and joked about an argument between a couple that turned into a full-fledged fight.

"My man was fighting his girl — like a real fight — and she kept hitting him, and he punched her in the face, and she stood there and said, 'Yeah, I eat those,'" said Cam. "I'm trying to break it up. She said, 'Nah, Killa, move. Move.'"

Cam'ron also recalled situations where disagreements escalated physically and explained why he eventually started protecting himself legally rather than engaging in arguments.

"I started going to order[s of] protection," he joked. "Nope, you won't get me."

The conversation came after Cardi addressed a video that recently went viral showing her seemingly arguing with Diggs outside a gym and coffee shop in Burtonsville, Maryland.

In footage circulated online, Cardi appeared visibly upset while Diggs stood beside a sports car listening with his arms crossed. At one point, another man accompanying Cardi briefly stepped in as if trying to calm the situation down.

After the clip spread online, Cardi humorously addressed the moment herself on X, writing: "Sometimes I forget I'm a celebrity… damn y'all ain't never cuss your babydad out when you hungry?"

The viral moment arrived only days after Cardi and Diggs were seen together publicly at the Diggs Deep Foundation Mother's Day event, where videos showed the pair smiling, posing for photos, and appearing affectionate throughout the celebration.
