pH-1 is currently facing backlash after comments he made about men and women’s inability to be friends have resurfaced online.
Last October, the Korean rapper (real name Harry Park) was a guest on Dive Studios podcast Get Real, where he explained that he doesn’t share his phone number because he believes "girls be crazy nowadays."
He also shared that he doubts men and women can be friends without sexual attraction coming into the fray. "When I look at a girl, it's like, even though
she's my friend, who knows?" he said around the 26-minute mark of the video below.
pH-1 went on to claim that his assumption has nothing to do with a lack of "self-control," but that he believes men and women are "two different types of animals."
"Us thinking that we have a friendship going, it's just a psychological thing," he continued.
pH-1 went on to pose a question to co-host Ashley Choi, asking what they would do if stranded on a deserted island or were the last two humans on Earth. "What we gonna do Ashley? Tell me," he said. "We have to make population."
The rappers comments resurfaced online this week and angered some viewers, including one person who was "saddened" considering that pH-1 has a largely female fanbase.
"This whole ph-1 controversy genuinely saddens me as a fan, especially knowing his fanbase is mostly women. how could he say or think something like this? im so disappointed," they wrote on X on Tuesday (March 31).
Another X user labelled ph-1 a "creep," writing: "ph-1 still having fans in 2026 when he's a blackpilled manosphere creep... ok..."
"i’m so appalled i actually hope she doesn’t work with him again like ever," a third person added.
Another suggested the rapper "wrap it up" following his comments. "'I view males and females as two different types of animals' yeah wrap it up," they wrote.
PH-1 has not addressed the backlash as of press time.
