UPDATED 4/18, 11:15 p.m. ET: A spokesperson for Offset responded to ChaseTheMoney’s suit with a statement to Complex.
The statement says: “These claims are completely meritless and nothing more than a money grab. A deal was negotiated with Mr. Rose and his management, and he agreed to compensation and credit for his contribution. After the record was released, and with new management in place, he refused to honor that agreement and has attempted to renegotiate for fees well beyond industry standards under the threat of litigation.”

Offset has gotten hit with a second countersuit from producer ChaseTheMoney, who’s behind the beat for “Worth It” from the rapper’s 2023 album, Set It Off.
In March of 2025, Offset sued the producer. The rapper claimed that at the time of the song’s creation, ChaseTheMoney referred Set to a man named J. Hill, who represented himself as the producer’s manager, to “figure logistics.” Hill and Offset’s management agreed to a producer fee of $20,000 along with a four percent royalty that would be split between Chase and the song’s co-producer, known as “Heavy Mellow.”
Months later, the former Migos member claimed, Chase came back with a new manager and demanded five times the initial planned compensation. Offset sued in order to enforce the terms of the original deal.
Chase attempted a countersuit last September, but his complaint was stricken for technical reasons. On Thursday (April 16) he filed a second countersuit. In it, he claims that Offset “knew, or reasonably should have known” that J. Hill was not managing the producer at the time the agreement was made. Chase claims that J. Hill stopped managing him in 2019, and that Hill’s only involvement with Offset was to set up logistics of the recording, not to negotiate any contracts.
Chase is seeking retainment of the song’s ownership interest, restitution, and coverage of attorney fees.
Offset has since responded to the news, calling ChaseTheMoney’s monetary pursuit “greed.”
Amid the rapper facing other additional legal troubles from Detroit business MotorCity Casino Hotel, where he’s allegedly racked up $100,000 in casino debit, earlier this month he was shot outside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Florida. Fortunately, the shooting was non-fatal and Offset hit the stage while in a wheelchair just days later. The FBI has requested that anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 1-800-CALL-FBI or visit tips.fbi.gov.
Separately, Offset has requested a paternity suit over the youngest child of his ex-wife, Cardi B.
