Kevin Gates has urged his ex-wife, Dreka Gates, to tell the "truth" about their past relationship in a new social media post.
In an Instagram reel posted on Friday (January 16), the Baton Rouge rapper claimed that the union between him and Dreka was not legally binding and denied being a "deadbeat" father to their two children.
The ex-spouses divorced last year after 10 years of marriage, and while their divorce was being resolved, Gates was Gates was briefly married to reality television personality Brittany Renner. Last May, Dreka denied having an affair with a female personal trainer during their marriage, but in Gates' post, he alleged that his ex-wife cheated on him with another man.
"Aye Drek, I challenge you to tell people that we had an Islamic marriage," the rapper said in the clip below. "I challenge you to tell people that my children [have] lived with me for the past two years. I challenge you to tell people that you didn't file for divorce, or whatever you call divorce, until I stopped giving you money because you and your family had been stealing from me the whole time."
Gates went on to say that his ex-wife was allegedly trying to portray him as a "deadbeat daddy." "I take care of my children and I was still taking care of you while you were with that n***a," the rapper said. "Tell 'em that. Tell 'em I've been gone since 2020."
"Tell 'em the truth. Because you are a goddess," he continued. "You're just a goddess of manipulation and darkness."
The rapper ended his video by alleging that Dreka stole money to start a dispensary, which Gates claims was closed a month after opening. Dreka, who owns and operates a 43-acre farm in Mississippi, petitioned for $46,274 in monthly spousal and $27,193 per month in child support in a legal filing last October, and claimed that her ex-husband had been financially negligent.
In response, Gates denied that the two had been legally married and accused Dreka of using a "factually baseless position."
