Brittany Renner is opening up about her conversion to Islam, saying the faith gave her the protection, discipline, and clarity she needed during a deeply personal period of rebuilding.

In a promo clip for her new podcast, Facets of Life With Brittany, Renner spoke candidly about how Islam reshaped the way she viewed herself, not as an image or spectacle, but as a person deserving of boundaries and peace.

“I’m more than my body. I’m more than the sexy. I’m tired of feeling like a fucking circus animal,” Renner said. “Islam provided that protection I needed while I was rebuilding myself.”

Renner described feeling emotionally exposed before converting, comparing herself to “a hermit crab without its shell.” She explained that modest clothing and wearing the hijab helped her feel shielded while she healed, allowing her to exist without performing for others.

“I quite literally cloaked myself with my clothing, with my hijab,” she said. “It was very healing to just be Brittany. No performing, no butt cheeks out and shorts that look like underwear. Just Brittany.”

The influencer added that religion, even when it felt challenging, gave her the structure and discipline she had never experienced before.

“I never knew I was capable of such discipline,” she said, noting that Islam taught her boundaries, patience, and the idea that no one is entitled to her physical or emotional access. “Hijab or not, the right people, person, opportunities will see that.”

Renner’s podcast comments come after months of public speculation surrounding her faith. In late 2024, she sparked conversation online when she began wearing a hijab, a decision that later became linked to her brief, private marriage to Kevin Gates. By mid-2025, Renner stopped wearing the hijab, leading to accusations of clout-chasing and questions about whether she was still Muslim.

Despite the backlash, Renner has maintained that her faith remains intact. In an interview with People last year, she said her life had become “better in every single category” since converting to Islam. That same month, she addressed critics on Instagram, writing that she doesn’t ask for permission, forgiveness, or validation for her choices and accepts whatever comes with them. She ended the post with, “Alhamdulillah for everything.”

Now, through her podcast, Renner appears focused on reframing the narrative around her life and choices. Rather than distancing herself from Islam, she’s emphasizing what the faith gave her.
