Bruno Mars has been shown a lot of love from the City of Las Vegas as citizens showed up in a spectacular way for him just hours before he kicked off his Romantic Tour.
On Friday (April 10), before the pop musician began his sold-out two-night residency at Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, Mars was honored with a street named after him. Following the tradition of neighboring Las Vegas streets dedicated to late music icons Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and more, Park Avenue was renamed Bruno Mars Drive.
Mars was also honored with April 10 being declared "Bruno Mars Day," with city-wide festivities including a parade down Las Vegas Blvd. and ending with the musician being presented with a key to the Las Vegas Strip. If that wasn’t enough, Mars also surprised the crowd with a pre-Romantic Tour performance.
During the ceremony, the 16-time Grammy winner also announced a $1 million donation to the Intermountain Health Nevada Children’s Hospital, which is scheduled to be completed by 2030.
The Romantic Tour, which spans 80 dates and goes until December 8, 2026, kicked off with three-time Grammy winner Leon Thomas as the supporting act. Also joining Mars throughout the tour on select dates are Victoria Monét, RAYE and DJ Pee Wee (aka Anderson .Paak), who is one-half of Silk Sonic with Mars.
Midway through the inaugural night of The Romantic Tour, .Paak reunited with Mars onstage for the first time since their 2022 Las Vegas residency. The duo performed a five-song set with selections from their debut album An Evening With Silk Sonic, including their four-time Grammy winning song "Leave the Door Open." Mars' second Las Vegas show continues on Saturday night (April 11) before he heads to Houston, Nashville, Chicago, Toronto and more tour spots both international and nationwide. Fans can purchase tickets here.
