HavinMotion was shot and killed last week in Washington, D.C.
According to a press release from the Metropolitan Police Department, HavinMotion, born Dwayne Omar Isaacs, Jr., was shot on April 23 at approximately 10:11 p.m. local time.
“Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim who was unconscious and not breathing, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds,” the release said. “DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene, and despite all lifesaving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries.”
The investigation is still open.
The D.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner shared HavinMotion’s cause and manner of death with Complex, revealing the former to be “multiple gunshot wounds,” and the latter, “homicide.”
HavinMotion, who was 22 years old, is from Upper Marlboro, Maryland — he claimed tiny Bryans Road (pop. 8,650) specifically. Just in the last month, he released two songs on his YouTube channel, “Druggin N’ Thuggin” and a remix of Kehlani’s “Folded.”
In 2024, he unleashed a performance of his song “Your Name” for On the Radar.
Redveil, who’s also from Maryland, mourned HavinMotion’s death on X.
“god bless the brilliant artists of my area man,” he wrote. “rest in peace havinmotion.”
The MPD is offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the shooting.
