President Donald Trump was evacuated from the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner after multiple gunshots were heard in the hotel where the event took place.

On Saturday (April 25), attendees gathered at Washington Hilton for the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner, with Trump attending for the first time.

Loud gunshots rang through the ballroom, and Secret Service immediately escorted Trump and Vice President JD Vance out of the hotel. Attendees are still reportedly inside the ballroom. No injuries have been reported.

ABC News’ Chief Washington Correspondent Jon Karl posted a video in the midst of the panic.

Afterward, Karl updated X users and shared that about half an hour after the incident, the program is set to resume.

The suspect was eventually identified as Cole Tomas Allen, 31, of Torrance, California. Allen is currently in police custody.
